Meet Doula Meg
Long before I ever called myself a doula, I was learning what it meant to care deeply for others. I grew up in a home where conversations about reproductive justice were part of everyday life, and as an older sister and close friend, I naturally became someone people turned to for support, trust, and understanding.
I’ve long been steadfast in my commitment to reproductive rights. In college, that commitment took shape through advocacy—attending protests and rallies, pouring over the writings of Bell Hooks, and volunteering as a patient advocate with Planned Parenthood. During graduate school, I deepened this passion through research, focusing my thesis on how doula support can improve intrapartum and postpartum outcomes for birthing people and their infants. That work made something click: I didn’t just want to study birth and advocacy—I wanted to be part of it. In 2015, I completed my doula training in New York City.
Since then, I’ve had the honor of supporting more than 200 families as they welcomed new life. Walking alongside people during such a powerful and vulnerable time continues to be a profound privilege—whether that means offering a steady presence, a double hip squeeze, or simply holding space.
When I’m not at a birth, you’ll likely find me outside on a hike, at the beach, or cooking and dancing in the kitchen with my husband, Brandon, and our two kids, Romy (4) and Lou ).
